The detective pursues the lead, shadowing her in different places but their efforts bear no fruit.Īnother man, William Stepson, is killed through poisoning. Whitehorn might have committed the murders because her husband was with another woman. ![]() Comstock, a local attorney and the guardian of several Osage Indians, requests to join the investigation and proclaims that Mrs. Later, a cab driver who drove Anna to Mollie’s luncheon reveals that Anna had told him that she was pregnant but even after confirmations from other sources, the detectives do not have a clue of who may have fathered the child. ![]() One of the investigators also checks Anna’s house. They investigate different people including Oda Brown, a woman named Rose Osage, and her boyfriend, Joe Allen - among others. Various private investigators are ultimately hired, and uncover and pursue different clues. Furthermore, the two families is extending a reward to anyone who may offer information that may lead to the capturing of the assailants. With the authorities reluctant to pursue Anna’s and Whitehorn’s killers, the remaining option is to hire private investigators.
